A Greek Christmas Trivia Weekend



Did you know that

  • some key Greek Christmas traditions have their beginning in the time of ancient Greece?
  • some ancient Greek festivals influenced the development of early Christian Nativity religious customs?
  • the Christmas Tree tradition began in Constantinople, during the time of the Byzantine Empire and was then carried north?

HOW DO I PLAY THIS TRIVIA GAME?

Every day, beginning on December 11th and ending on December 12th, 2021, we will host one game

You can play the game anytime between 7 AM - 10 PM every day

The game consists of 10 multiple choice questions that test your knowledge about the Greek Christmas Period traditions

Each game ticket is equivalent to a $7.00 donation

HOW CAN I WIN?

At the end of every gameday (10 PM), the players with the top three scores among all participants will win prizes

Highest score: A bottle of Σπιτικό ultra-premium authentic extra virgin Greek olive oil (courtesy of Elaiourgiki A.E., Greece) & a bottle of premium wine from Greece

Second-highest score: A bottle of Σπιτικό ultra-premium authentic extra virgin Greek olive oil (courtesy of Elaiourgiki A.E., Greece)

Third-highest score: A bottle of Σπιτικό ultra-premium authentic extra virgin Greek olive oil (courtesy of Elaiourgiki A.E., Greece)

*In case of tied scores, the game offers bonus points to those who are faster in giving correct answers to the questions

One game play ticket requires a donation of $7 via Eventbrite.
There are no restrictions on the number of game play tickets you can acquire.

One ticket allows you to play on any one of two game days
(December 11th or December 12th, 2021)

***One ticket = One game

All donations will go to the Greek Room's Scholarship Fund,
administered by the
Nationality Rooms Program of the University of Pittsburgh.

Winners will be notified to pick up the prizes together with a 10% shopping discount
for selected purchases at a Pittsburgh Greek Food retailer who has partnered with us.

***Winning contestants are limited to one prize
for the entire duration of the game play period.
